Auditions for the Magic Smoking Monkey
Holiday Stop-Motion Monkey Extravaganza!

If you’ve ever had aspirations of becoming a dentist, this parody is for you! Magic Smoking Monkey takes you back to the 1970’s this holiday season with their mash-up of your childhood favorites: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and The Year Without Santa Claus.

Rehearsals begin October 22, 3-4 times a week.

Performances are:

  • 11/30 and 12/1 - 8PM show only
  • 12/2 - 2PM show
  • 12/5 and 12/6 - 8PM show
  • 12/7 and 12/8 - 8PM and 10:30PM shows

MSMT seeks a diverse cast of 8 actors. Some singing will be involved. And puppets. And people with plastic litter containers strapped to their feet covered in fur. So, ya know, the usual stuff. Actors are paid a stipend.

Where: The Regional Arts Commission (6128 Delmar Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63112)

When: Sunday, October 21st from 11am – 2pm (we can see some actors from 10:30 – 11:00 that morning if they have conflicts later that day).

What to bring: Headshot/resume and your list of conflicts from Oct 22nd – Dec 9th.

Contact Suki Peters (suki@stlshakespeare.org) to secure an audition spot (audition appointments are not mandatory, but are encouraged to help keep your wait time at a minimum).

Below you will find the YouTube links for both original TV specials that this parody is based on (in case you’re curious).
